About this module
Most parents arrive at parenting already carrying patterns, around conflict, control, affection, or fear, that were shaped long before their child was born, and those patterns tend to surface fastest under exactly the pressure parenting applies. This module asks a parent to meet those patterns directly, with curiosity rather than shame, because a pattern that goes unmet from the parent's own history has a way of repeating itself in the next generation regardless of intention. Meeting it doesn't require resolving an entire personal history; it requires enough honesty to recognize when an old pattern, not the present moment, is actually driving a reaction.
What you'll explore
Three lanes of knowing
What's understood about how the demands of caregiving activate a parent's own earliest attachment patterns, often without warning.
A short practice for catching the moment a reaction is being driven by an old pattern rather than the present situation.
Reflection tracing a recent strong reaction back to see how much of it belonged to this moment and how much belonged to an older one.
Outcome
"I can recognize when an old pattern is driving my reaction, and meet it with curiosity instead of shame."
