FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

The things people usually ask before they enter a pathway.

The Foundations
What is Wholeness Education?

Wholeness Education is a global humanistic education platform dedicated to cultivating the inner architecture of the future human. It's built on the Wholeness Operating System: twelve intelligences, each one developed through the same recurring four-stage arc of awareness, regulation, relationship, and intentional action, and expressed through three pathways that carry that one architecture into a specific life: Learning for Wholeness™ for youth, Parenting for Wholeness™ for parents, and Teaching for Wholeness™ for educators.

Who is this for?

This is for everyone who carries the privilege of raising, teaching, or walking alongside a young person, and for every adult who still wishes to keep growing in their own right. A young person finding their way through adolescence is welcomed here with the same warmth as a parent choosing a new way of showing up, and a teacher returning to the deeper reason they began in the first place. A young person enters through Learning for Wholeness™, a parent through Parenting for Wholeness™, and a teacher through Teaching for Wholeness™, and because all three pathways move through the same developmental arc together, the same teen is often being met by a parent and a teacher who are doing their own inner work alongside them, whether that choice is made personally or embraced together across an entire school or district. Because the inner growth at the heart of this work belongs to every learning community, it's offered in that same spirit to public, private, charter, and online schools alike, wherever a community is ready to receive it.

The Model Beneath Every Pathway
What are the twelve intelligences?

The twelve intelligences are organized into two layers that build on one another. The six Core intelligences form the inner foundation, cultivated first in every pathway at every age, and the six Applied intelligences are how that foundation engages the world, sustainable only once the Core beneath them is stable.

  • Core, the foundation: Physical (PQ), Emotional (EQ), Cognitive (IQ), Intuitive / Soul (SQ), Moral / Ethical (MQ), and Relational (RQ) Intelligence.
  • Applied, built outward on Core: Adaptive (AQ), Digital (DQ), Creative (CIQ), Global / Systems (GQ), Ecological (EcoQ), and Financial (FQ) Intelligence.

Every one of the twelve, Core or Applied, grows through the same recurring four-stage arc of awareness, regulation, relationship, and intentional action, deepened again at each new life stage rather than climbed once and left behind. The full description of all twelve lives on Our Model.

What are the Three Lanes of Knowing?

The Three Lanes of Knowing are not a thirteenth intelligence and not a third tier stacked on top of the other two. They are the discipline that governs how all twelve intelligences are taught, so that every intelligence, in every pathway, is held to all three lanes at once rather than taught through a single lens.

  • Lane 1, Science: what research shows, measurable, testable, and evidence-based.
  • Lane 2, Practice: what can be embodied, direct first-person experience, practiced and felt rather than only understood.
  • Lane 3, Meaning-Making: what can be honestly explored, values, purpose, and meaning, carried with humility rather than forced into false certainty.
What is the Five Initiations backbone?

The Five Initiations are the developmental rites of passage underneath all three pathways, regardless of age or role: six states, Dependence, Regulation, Identity, Autonomy, Contribution, and Wisdom, with five thresholds to cross between them. A teen, a parent, and a teacher are each moving through this same backbone, simply beginning at the threshold their own life has already brought them to, which is why a teen's module and a parent's module at the same threshold are recognizably doing the same inner work, named in the language of their own life. The full map of where each pathway sits on this backbone, down to the specific modules that mirror each other, lives on Pathway Interconnections.

How is growth actually measured?

Growth is tracked through the Wholeness Dashboard, an assessment system built to match this model rather than borrowed from a different one.

  • Baselines: simple self, parent, and teacher inventories, rechecked every eight to twelve weeks.
  • Skill demonstrations: performance tasks that ask a person to show a capacity directly, guiding a downshift, running a repair conversation, reframing a distortion, rather than only describing it.
  • Portfolios: proof of contribution over time, aligned to all twelve intelligences.

What this produces is evidence of who someone is becoming, not a test score.

The Three Pathways
How do the pathways work?

Each pathway carries a specific life through the same Five Initiations backbone, at its own pace.

  • A teen moves through Learning for Wholeness™ across four years.
  • A parent moves through Parenting for Wholeness™ across five levels, each built around a twelve-week cohort.
  • An educator moves through Teaching for Wholeness™ across four levels of certification.

Within each pathway, the levels build on one another in order: Level 1 lays the foundation Level 2 depends on, Level 2 lays the foundation Level 3 depends on, and so on, so each level carries its own prerequisite of having completed the one before it. Each pathway is still complete entirely on its own, so no one has to wait for the other two pathways to begin, but the model is built to be woven together across pathways, and a teen, a parent, and a teacher moving through their own pathways at the same time will find that the growth each of them is doing deepens and accelerates the others.

Do the three pathways work independently?

Yes. A teen can enter Learning for Wholeness™ without a parent enrolled. A parent can enter Parenting for Wholeness™ without a teen. A teacher can enter Teaching for Wholeness™ without either. Each pathway is a complete developmental journey on its own, asking nothing of the other two in order to be whole. When more than one is engaged in the same family or school at once, the model simply predicts they'll reinforce each other faster, not that either one needed the other to begin.

Is there a credential that spans all three pathways?

Yes. Beyond the three role-specific pathways sits the Wholeness Certification Pathway, open to parents, teachers, youth mentors, and coaches alike. This is how someone moves from practitioner to architect to institution builder within Wholeness Education itself.

  • Level 1, Wholeness Foundations: understanding the model, learning to use the assessment, and applying wholeness principles personally. Grants the Certified Wholeness Practitioner credential.
  • Level 2, Wholeness Integrator: reading assessment profiles and designing wholeness-centered environments. Grants the Certified Wholeness Integrator credential.
  • Level 3, Wholeness Architect: embedding wholeness into institutions, curriculum design, and policy. Grants the Certified Wholeness Architect credential.
  • Level 4, Wholeness Steward: long-term human development and cultural stewardship at the scale of a whole institution or field. Grants the Certified Wholeness Steward credential.

This is the pathway for someone ready to help carry the model itself forward, not only to live it.

Finding Your Way Around
What's the difference between Our Model, Pathway Interconnections, and The Whole Human?
  • Our Model lays out the what: the twelve intelligences and the Unified Intelligence Model that organizes them.
  • Pathway Interconnections lays out how they relate: the Five Initiations backbone that all three pathways move through, down to the specific modules that mirror each other across Learning, Parenting, and Teaching.
  • The Whole Human lays out the result: what mastery actually looks like once a person has moved through that arc.
Bringing This to a School or District
How does a school or district get started?

A school or district typically begins with Teaching for Wholeness™, the pathway built to work at an institutional scale: teachers move through certification individually, using the institutional email their school or district issues them, which ties each teacher's progress to an official record. From there, many schools go on to bring Learning for Wholeness™ to their students and point interested families toward Parenting for Wholeness™, though every pathway remains free to stand entirely on its own. The simplest way to begin that conversation is directly, by reaching out to info@wholenesseducation.com, so the right starting point for your school's own situation can be mapped out together.
