How we handle student, parent, and educator data as a partner to schools and districts.
Schools, districts, and families trust us with information about young people's growth, and we treat that trust as central to how we build the Service. This statement describes, in plain terms, the categories of data we handle, the role we play alongside a school or district, and the safeguards we maintain. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Depending on the pathway, we handle the following categories of information:
We do not collect more than is needed to deliver the pathway a student, parent, or teacher is enrolled in, and we do not use this data to build advertising profiles.
For Learning for Wholeness™ and Teaching for Wholeness™, access is provisioned through a school or district, and we act as a service provider to that institution with respect to student data, consistent with the role recognized under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and comparable state student privacy laws. The school or district remains the record-holder for student information, and we use student data only to deliver the Service on the institution's behalf, under the direction of that institution's administrator.
We maintain safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including:
We retain program and progress data for as long as an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, so that a learner's record can carry forward across levels. A school, district, or parent may request deletion of data at any time, and we will act on that request promptly once we have confirmed it with the appropriate account holder.
We do not sell student, parent, or educator data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. Information is used only to provide, support, and improve the Service.
We work with a small number of service providers who support core functions such as hosting and communications. Each is bound to use data only as we direct, and only to the extent necessary to perform their function for us.
If we become aware of an incident affecting the security of personal data, we will notify the affected school, district, or account holder without undue delay, consistent with applicable law, and work with them on appropriate next steps.
School and district administrators, parents, and educators can reach our team directly with any question about how data is handled for their account, or to request access, correction, or deletion of information.
