About this module

Building a real circle, not just a contact list.

One mentoring relationship helps one other parent; a genuine circle of parents, gathered around shared practice and mutual support, multiplies that help many times over and gives everyone in it, including the parent who started it, somewhere ongoing to belong. This module walks through what it actually takes to build and sustain a circle like that, rather than a group that meets once and quietly dissolves.

What you'll explore

Four shifts this module is building toward.

  • What distinguishes a genuine, sustained circle of parents from a group that meets once and fades.
  • A realistic structure for starting a small circle of parents around shared practice.
  • How to keep a circle like this going once the initial momentum wears off.
  • A first, concrete step toward starting or joining a circle like this.

Three lanes of knowing

Understood, practiced, and explored.

Lane 1 · Science

Why circles sustain change better than individual mentoring alone

What's understood about how peer communities sustain behavior change more reliably than one-on-one support alone, especially over the long term.

Lane 2 · Practice

A circle-starting structure

A practical framework for starting a small, sustainable circle of parents built around shared practice.

Lane 3 · Meaning-making

What would make this circle actually last?

Reflection on what has caused similar groups to fade in the past, and what might keep this one going.

Outcome

"I know how to build a circle of parents that actually lasts, not just one that meets once."
